 The Art TrainThe Art Train is a new art and craft group for under 5's in Amersham and Chalfont St Giles. It's primary aim is to get pre-schoolers to have fun with tactile things such as paint, glue, textiles, sand, pasta, water etc. It's other aims are to have fun, strengthen finger and hand muscles needed when learning to write (at school), to generate confidence and self belief and freedom of expression within a semi-structured environment. After an initial story or song to establish the theme of the week we will all make something together. Then the children are free to choose what they would like to do next. There will always be a wet and dry tactile area, painting easels, further sticking activities and play dough amongst many things going on. We meet 10-11am on Wednesdays in St John's Methodist Hall, Woodside Road in Amersham and 10-11am Thursdays in the Reading Room in Chalfont St Giles.
