The Chiltern Karate Association is a friendly supportive association, which, through its regular introductory beginners courses presents an ideal opportunity for you to start and progress in the fascinating art of karate.
The association is affiliated to the Amateur Martial Association and the English Karate Governing Body, which is recognised by the Sports
Council. We have been established since the late 1980's in the Chiltern area (Buckinghamshire and Middlesex) and aim to promote traditional Shotokan Karate in a friendly training environment.
Its motto, "Karate for Life", reflects the belief that karate is for everyone, young or old, male or female.
To get you started we hold regular introductory beginners' courses combining both traditional karate and simple
self-defence techniques. These are specifically designed to cater for people who have never had any experience in the martial arts and usually consist of a variety of participants, young and not so young, male and female.
The courses are "friendly" to people who have not recently participated in any form of physical activity and cater for those of all ages (7 years and over).
Commencing with basic exercises and karate techniques a beginners' course will prepare the student for the first grading examination to blue belt. It should be added however, that a number of Chiltern Karate Association students have reached "black belt" with many others on their way to this high level of achievement.
