Membership
Membership of the Community Library gives you membership of the County Library as well. If you have a County Library card you can continue to use it. New members joining the Community Library will be issued with a County Library Card. This entitles you to use the Community Library and all Bucks County Libraries including the Mobile Library. Membership is free.

How to join the Library
Joining the library is free and you can join at any age. Adults need to show proof of current name, address and signature such as driving licence, allowance book or bank statement and to fill in a registration form.

If you are under 16 your parent or guardian will need to sign your registration form and provide proof of their identity.

If your card is stolen let us know immediately so we can prevent it being used.

Using the Library
You can borrow up to 15 books for up to three weeks. Everything you borrow will be stamped with a return date. You can renew items, unless they are in demand, at any Bucks library, by phone or over the Internet. If you renew by phone any fines will be added to your card to be paid on your next visit.

Book Stock
The books in the library are a mixture of ones hired from the County and those that have been gifted or bought locally. All these books may be borrowed in the usual manner.

Book Reservations
Additionally books may be reserved by filling in a request form. You can reserve any book that is in the Community Library or on the County System. The service costs £1 per book, but is free for over 65s and for children under 16.

Internet Access
There are two "Peoples Network" PCs giving Internet access and access to Microsoft Office software. The use of these PCs is free for the first half an hour for children under 16 and persons who are registered unemployed. There are printing and scanning facilities available.

Local and tourist information
The library's aim is to be the main information provider for both local people and visitors. Information is held on the village, the immediate local area and has limited information on places further a field like London and the rest of Buckinghamshire.

Become a Friend of the Library
The Community Library is run and staffed entirely by local volunteers. It was formed following the County's decision to provide only a limited mobile library service for the village.

Whilst the Community library is free for all to use, financially it relies entirely on local support i.e. donations from individuals and village organisations and a grant from the Parish Council. You can help by becoming a Friend of the Library for an annual subscription of £10. Subscription forms are available in the library or click here.
