 The
Friends of
Chalfont St Giles Parish Church
"The Friends" is a charity, which helps to
maintain the church building and the churchyard so that both enhance the
village.
To do this we organise working parties for
activities such as grass-cutting, fence repair & renewal and minor
building repairs. We also raise funds so that we can contribute to, or pay
for, work that has to be carried out professionally.
We are not a religious organization and our
constitution only allows us to contribute to items that are directly
related to the maintenance of the building and the churchyard. Our
administrative costs are kept to a minimum, ensuring that 90-95% of our
income is expended on maintenance. For example, this year we have paid for
repairs to the altar rails, and also provided replacement for broken
heating grilles as well as contributing £17,000 towards the electrical
re-wiring of the church.
Fundraising includes events such as concerts
(classical & jazz), Wine Tastings and Quiz Suppers.
You could help us in our aim of maintaining this
beautiful building and its churchyard, either by becoming a member (the
minimum annual subscription is £10) or coming to the working parties,
which take place monthly on a Saturday morning. If the latter, do let us
know in advance so that we can organize jobs to suit you.
If you are interested in helping us then please

We shall be very pleased to see you.
